Battery Point Light:  20 x 30, oil on canvas

Crescent City, California
Dating from 1856, Battery Point was one of the 8 original west coast lights built in the
Cape Cod style. Deactivated in 1953, the structure is located on a small island, exposed to
the elements. It has suffered extensive damage from the sea, including an overwash by a
tidal wave in 1964. Currently, the Del Norte County Historical Society
maintains a Maritime Museum on the site.
